Monica Kelsie is a painter and sculptor of mixed media materials. She received her BFA from Howard University in Washington, D.C. She studied Art Therapy at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and Early childhood Education at National Louis University. Monica was introduced to A.R.T. when she was appointed by her children's school to assist the teaching artists during their residencies back in 2004. Going beyond the call of duty Monica worked alongside the artist 20 weeks. Her prior teaching experience includes environments as diverse as the Children's Museum in Washington D.C., Head Teacher in a Reggio Emilia School and Art Teacher for a Chicago Public School.
