Kiela Smith-Upton |

Kiela Smith-Upton received a BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and studied at Parsons School of Design in the Ivory Coast, West Africa. She has taught with A.R.T since 1991, recently conducting workshops and a variety of mosaic projects. She feels that the collaborative mosaic process she teaches empowers children to own, and give voice to, their personal visions, add beauty to their school environment, and learn valuable life tools gained through teamwork. Kiela is the mother of three children, married to a self-taught sculptor and feels that sharing the creative process keeps her spirit young and free. |
