Tim Branson earned a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design, an MS in painting from Illinois State and a MFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Tim has worked with A.R.T since 1991. He has also taught many residencies and workshops--his African Tie-Dye and Jacob Lawrence workshops are enormously popular with students, teachers and parents. Tim feels that by teaching in Chicago's public schools, he can help reduce the negative images that exist about inner city schools and their students. As an artist-educator, Tim is able to contribute to a better urban society. He has traveled to Gambia, West Africa, Mexico, Honduras, Guatemala, and Belize, and his paintings and drawings contain important messages with socio-political and historical points of view. |
