The inaugural exhibition of the
Alice Welsh Skilling Student Gallery
includes original artwork created by students from around the world for the International ChildrenÕs Art Exhibition in 1994.
Alice conceived and implemented the idea of the exhibition to commemorate A.R.T.Õs 100th Anniversary.
The year-long International ChildrenÕs Art Exhibition was on view at the Chicago Cultural Center and in England and paired
students from 19 Chicago Public Schools with students from 14 international schools through ChicagoÕs Sister City Program.
Alice visited many of these international schools and worked tirelessly on this project as she did on all projects with which she was involved for A.R.T.

Subsequent exhibitions will feature artwork created in A.R.T. residency programs by students in kindergarten to eighth grade.
These exhibitions will change throughout the year, thus allowing our constituents and other visitors to our administrative offices
the opportunity to see the breadth and depth of the artwork created by Chicago students.
